GEO-INFORMATION MANAGEMENT WORKING GROUP

The Geo Information Management (Geo-IM) Working Group is a group of technical persons from UN Agencies, Non-Governmental Organizations and Governmental bodies that aims at discussing and implementing:

1) better ways and systems to facilitate the exchange of information;
2) standard procedures on data sharing;
3) standardization and harmonization of datasets among partners;

4) carrying out coordinated and joint assessments.

 

The Working Group operates in line with the IASC Endorsed Operational Guidance on Responsibilities of Cluster/Sector Leads and OCHA Information Management. As mandated by the operational guidance, each Cluster Lead has a focal point for information management who participates in the Geo-IM Working Group.

The Working Group is co-chaired by the Northern Uganda Data Center (NUDC)/Office of the Prime Minister (OPM), Uganda Bureau of Statistics (UBOS) and the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UN OCHA).
